The program:
“Suite from Battlefield Bad Company” is a string quartet arrangement of themes from the soundtracks of Battlefield Bad Company I and II, composed by, and now re-arranged by Mikael for string quartet. This will be the world premiere of that arrangement. Battlefield Bad Company II is the biggest March video game in history, with more than 7 million copies sold.
“Hi Heart in the Middle” was originally written for 8 clarinets (4 soprano / 4 bass), originally recorded by Joshua Rubin for the EP “Seven Eight” (released Dec 7 2010 on PMW recordings).
“Watching Salò” hints at the original theme from Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film “Salò, or The 120 Days of Sodom”. This piece will be part of Mikael’s collaboration with Black Sun Productions – the album “Phantasmata Domestica” (out Nov 23 2011). That version is for string quintet, recorded by Sirius with Michael Bates on bass.
“Breathing” is from the soundtrack to Maria Beatty’s film “Bandaged”. It was recorded by Fung Chern Hwei for that soundtrack. This version will be an arrangement for full string quartet.
“Nattvittje” is a brand new piece for string quartet by Mikael.
