Summer is upon us!
The 2015-16 season has been our busiest season yet here in the land of Sirius. It took us to Malaysia, with concerts in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, and to Germany, where we performed in Munich, Stuttgart, Ulm, and worked with wonderful students in Ochsenhausen and Lübeck.
Closer to home, we played for the first time as a quartet in Detroit, Washington DC, Erie and Juniata, PA, as well as returning to some of our favorite venues in NYC such as Symphony Space and the cell.
And in April, we released Paths Become Lines, our latest album featuring all original music written by members of the quartet. We have been getting a really positive response so far, and we are looking forward to playing music from the album at our final concert of the season this Friday at Bargemusic inBrooklyn. In addition to music from Paths Become Lines, you can hear us try our hand at the music of Charles Ives, as we will be playing “Arguments” from his second string quartet.
If you are in NYC, we would love to see you there! Regardless, we hope you have a lovely, lazy summer and we will see you in the fall!
